The Lake Martin Cooperative will exemplify what it feels like to spend time at Lake Martin: Easeful, warm, bright, and a little bit nostalgic. High quality products and experience await at this special spot in what was formerly Jim’s Bait Shop on Highway 50. This stretch of road connects a number of high value property neighborhoods along the lake, and yet there’s nowhere to stop for provisions. Come in to stock your cooler with sandwiches and drinks for a day on the boat, a bottle of wine to gift to a host at a neighborhood gathering, or a sweatshirt for a cool evening under the stars.

Everything you need to embody lake life is right here.

Example: “The Snow moon is a healing moon. Spend some time today considering how the past versions of yourself are with you and still supporting you today. Forgive them what they didn’t know or do the way you would now. Let go of what’s not serving you. Identify where you need continued healing and allow it. Ask for help where needed. You are not a burden. You are a gift.”

BIO SAMPLE

Lindsay Foret is a Philadelphia-based Wardrobe Stylist with decades of experience in creative direction and visual storytelling whose portfolio ranges from feature films to clients like Target, HGTV, and ESPN. Her interest in fashion began in her teens. “I used to love Paper Magazine, The Face and all of the indie fashion magazines of the 90’s,” she says. “I was inspired by all of the grunge and punk band frontwomen too! My friends and I used to go thrifting all over the place to put together our looks for nights out going to see our friends’ bands play or going to see our favorite grunge bands in Philly.”

Lindsay started her career in the film industry after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, but in time she felt called home where for almost two decades now she has been associated with some of the best and brightest directors, photographers, producers and agencies in the Philadelphia area.

As a wardrobe stylist, Lindsay loves creating characters more than anything, and her early love of grunge comes into play still. “I love when I get to distress wardrobe,” she muses. “I love cutting it, dying it, aging and distressing. I love pattern mixing. I love when I have a project allows me the time and creativity to really scour for pieces that have personality.” When that time isn’t there, Lindsay still excels; She is known for her flexibility and calm nature, especially in high-pressure situations with tight turnarounds or seemingly impossible challenges. No matter what, she always finds a way to make things work.

No matter the project, Lindsay’s rich experience combined with her strong sense of aesthetics and trends, her project-based organization, her love of being part of a creative team where she gets to mesh with the creative visions of her collaborators, make her a go-to stylist both in the Greater Philadelphia market and across the country.

Of her impressive career, Lindsay shares, “From commercials to children’s programming, agency styling to music videos, I’ve been grateful for so many eclectic opportunities; The communal spirit inherent to our industry continues to inspire me, as do my three daughters. I tell them everyday that there is nothing more gratifying than living out the dreams of your youth.”

COLUMNIST AT THE TENNESSEAN

“Thank You Notes To All The Bosses I’ve Had”

“As I turned the lights on in my office this morning, at work bright and early and excited for the emails I get to respond to, the work I get to do for my clients, and the fact that I get to do it my own way in my own time, I thought, “this is thanks to all the bosses I’ve had — good and bad — that I learned how to be my own boss...”

“7 Questions I Ask Myself Every Day”

“I come here each week to write about how we can better ourselves. How we can do more, grow stronger, think smarter, become happier. The reason for our yearning to do those things isn’t selfish. It’s not rooted only in success, though success is a factor if we’re all being honest. The root of this is that if we approach life with a positive outlook, we have more love to share; if we live more efficiently, we have more time to give; if we are well taken care of, we are able to care for others well...”

“How I Learned To Stop Worrying About Failure”

“Last week I went to a lunchtime gathering of women from all kinds of career paths who are all looking for stronger community and support in the workforce. We introduced ourselves to the group, heard one woman’s story that included her lifelong challenge of being a perfectionist (which I related to a great deal) and chatted a bit all together about vulnerability. I got into my car feeling refreshed and energized from the time I’d just spent with these new women, only to glance in the rearview mirror and realize I had a spray of dry shampoo glaringly unblended in my hair. Hello, imperfection...”

“What I Learned About Leadership In The Wilderness”

“Last month I set out into the Columbia Gorge area of Oregon on the border of Washington for a solo outdoor adventure. Strange that getting far away from work would teach me lessons about running a business, but it’s true. Here’s what I walked away with when I came back from the trails.

1. Being terrified doesn’t mean you’re not ready.

In Portand, Oregon, in the days leading up to heading out there, I made numerous trips to REI to collect the supplies on my very long list of things I’d have to cram into one backpack. I studied the map of my route. I asked every question I could think of to friends who had more experience than I had. I was ready, but I was still so nervous. What business did I have being out there on the trail on my own? What if I got lost? What if I couldn’t find a good spot to pitch my tent for the night? What were all the things that I didn’t even know I didn’t know, that could cause trouble once I got out there so far from civilization?...”

After graduating from Belmont University with a degree in Entertainment and Music Business, Kimberly Novosel began her career as a wardrobe stylist, and grew from there to spend twenty years in image and brand development and later creative direction and production, managing businesses and projects in entertainment, fashion, wellness, publishing, and interior design. A writer before she was anything else, Kimberly has been a published author, columnist, contributor, and copywriter, and her skill with words adds a layer of soul to her all of her work. Today she lives in Portland, Oregon where she works with creatives to energize and personalize their marketing and community strategies in a way that’s as warm, soft, and memorable as Kimberly herself.

  • Over the past nine years, I've worked with Kimberly on a number of projects including business planning and launching, complicated website builds, marketing new products and services, and producing media and events. Her ability to form or grasp a vision and understand the aesthetics and design while also managing finite organizational and communication details is unmatched and awes me every single time. She's been a life saver to me on many occasions, and as a bonus her enthusiasm and positive attitude make her a joy to work with. Any creative project will benefit from Kimberly at the helm.

  • I have worked with Kimberly for over a decade now in various forms. She has been a resource for me professionally in event planning, leading goal setting meetings for our team, and most recently by helping me craft a business plan for a new venture. Personally, Kimberly has been a self development resource for me as a coach. Kimberly approaches each project with a dynamic perspective. As a small business owner, I enjoy working alongside someone that understands the challenges of working for yourself and also pleasing clients. Working with Kimberly feels like working alongside a friend to achieve your goals. She is supportive, kind and encouraging. Her diverse background lends itself to limitless ways in which Kimberly can contribute to the success of an organization or an individual.

  • Kimberly was an instrumental part in the success of our "Take the Stairs" book launch. She quarterbacked a nationwide tour which included securing a tour bus, securing 22 different venue locations around the country, finding event sponsors, developing all tour marketing and event promotion, and orchestrating it all together with various media appearances and book signings along the way. Results typically speak for themselves and Kimberly's efforts helped the book hit #1 on the Wall St Journal, Amazon, and USA Today bestsellers list and #2 on The New York Times. Most importantly the tour raised tens of thousands of dollars for America's high schools. Kimberly has a knack for coordinating many moving parts with a tremendous attitude.
