Hi, I’m Kimberly Novosel, a writer and stylist who loves working alongside people who are seeking more intention and fulfillment in your work and in the ways you live.
Through First and Evergreen, I provide styling and organization services for your home and wardrobe. Plus, as a lifelong writer, former columnist, and published author, I love working with written words, a passion and skill that adds an additional layer of soul to my work. I write weekly essays for unearthing at Substack and hope to release a second book in the next couple of years.
On a personal note (though all of this is personal to me!), over the past few years I’ve found myself on the other side of the grief of betrayal and divorce, and my new home here in Portland became a peaceful place to land and to explore who I am becoming. Now more than ever I seek to work alongside folks who want more peace in your homes in in the ways you live.
When I’m not in the studio/office, you’ll find me hiking or sitting on a patio somewhere.

place to shop: Deep Lake is a favorite place to search for vintage and pre-loved, as well as all of the local Portland markets. Otherwise, lululemon, Anthropologie, The Great., and Jenni Kayne are day to day faves, with Rachel Comey and Loeffler Randall for shoes (when it’s not Birks or sneaks!). Ulla Johnson and Zimmermann are constant inspo. Always Gigi Pip for hats! Mina Baie is my go-to for bags, and Beis for travel.
artist: an old acquaintance of mine, Matthew Johnson, is an incredible fine art photographer. I hope to own a piece of his someday.
place to travel to: all around the northwest which is why I live here, Paris
