I’m Kimberly Novosel, a former wardrobe stylist, a lifelong writer, and a creative project manager.

In my professional work I find myself calling upon my knowledge and love of style and organization, often guiding people toward curating unique and meaningful businesses structured in a way that supports presence and peace (rather than clutter and chaos).

And sometimes that’s not enough. For my clients, who wish I could also come into their homes or accompany them to thrift shops or create their pinboards. And for me, as style and design have remained fulfilling hobbies even after I retired from my career in fashion and entertainment.

Thus, First and Evergreen was born…

MY PHILOSOPHY

I live at Evergreen House.

It’s both the name I gave my house and a beautiful symbol for the way I believe a home should be found, styled, organized, and loved.

Evergreen symbolizes something that stays fresh and retains its relevance and usefulness.

What does that mean in a home?

Our needs from the way a home looks, feels, and functions are constantly changing, just as we are. To me, an evergreen home is one that can fluctuate and flow along with you, never having a season without its greenness, always meeting you right where you are with consistent ease.

Here’s a simple example. My daughter is four, and she’s recently started getting into Barbie dolls. She has a few Barbie things now that she needs easy daily access to, but her toy baskets on the shelves in her room were full. So we looked at what was stored in there that wasn’t getting much use, and we moved the wooden train set down to the basement to be sent on to another little, giving the Barbies a home and keeping her shelves fresh, relevant, and useful.

The same thing happens for all of us. During a season where I’m making smoothies regularly, I need easy access to my blender. Or I’ll find that if my skincare essentials are behind other things in the cabinet, I skip my routine. Our homes should be set up to support our daily lives.

Our homes are also places that need to hold us energetically. The way your home looks and feels matters as much as how it functions.
