Imagine spending 4 days camping, no air conditioning, no mirrors, no bathrooms, (most of you just shuddered), and then add to that a community of 100,000 music fans, yummy festival foods, cool drinks, silent disco dancing, friends new and old, and NONSTOP MUSIC.
Welcome to Bonnaroo.
Again one of the most unique experiences of my life, this is the second time I've camped at Bonnaroo and the 3rd time I've attended. Despite all of the preparedness - lists of supplies needed, several shopping trips, coordinating with friends, and making a schedule on the Bonnaroo app - there's no way you can ever quite plan out or prepare for how the weekend might go. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
It's kind of like summer camp for the music business world, if I think about it. I also got to visit with a couple of brands I love who are making a difference in the world. To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) was there sharing love notes among festival goers, and Alex and Ani were back in the artist lounge, where I added my handprint to the Make Your Mark wall (for which they're making a donation to The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals) and they adorned my wrist with new bangles.
Musical highlights for me were Elle King, Kacey Musgraves, Bassnectar, Hozier, Sturgill Simpson, Spoon, A Thousand Horses, and Brandi Carlile.
