After my night at the sold out Brandi Carlile show at the Ryman this past weekend, we all knew this was coming. It was my 5th time to see Brandi play live, and she was as vivacious and captivating as ever. I bought her latest record, The Firewatcher's Daughter, on vinyl (my first, and no I don't have a record player yet), and have been listening to it (on Spoitfy, haha) every day since. I even ran 5 miles to it on Sunday! I don't need fast tunes to run, I just need something that holds my attention and moves me.
My favorite tracks are "The Stranger at My Door (from which the title comes), "The Eye" (Can you fight the urge to run for another day? You might make it further if you learn to stay), and "I Belong to You" (Last night I had the exact same dream as you. I killed a bird to save your life and you gave me your shoes. You said clip my wings and walk my miles, and I said I would too).
