I haven't done a happy list in a while! Join me by taking a few minutes today to jot down the little things that add some sunshine to your day. Flowers on the trees is surely one of them!
I am grateful to live a life where I rarely need an alarm, and having just flown back west from the east coast I'm waking up even earlier than usual. I've been up and out in the 8:00 hour for the last couple of days, and the morning sun layered with the chilly air is just the best start to the day. Deep breaths galore.
I read the first Divergent book on my flight, and it was fantastic. Easy read, really fun and interesting, and a perfect travel book. The best part? So many quotes about overcoming or facing fear, which is something I'm fascinated with. I'm going to have to read it again to do some underlining. Here's one:
“Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.”
As much as I love adventure, this week I'm super happy to be back home in my apartment. I keep wanting to hug my washing machine. It's nice to have somewhere to come back to, somewhere that's home, even if just for the time being. My own bed to wake in, a place to head off to (burncycle), familiar stops on the way home again. Favorite tables.
I don't know if it's the season or a coincidence, but there are good things happening. Several of my best friends are looking at great years in their careers and other exciting changes. My brother got married last weekend. I am loving my clients and have some new connections too. I'm kind of enjoying sitting in this place of, "Wow! Let's see what happens next!"
